The surrounding green area is filled with native vegetation, as heather, beech and southern olive, ideal for hiking and cycling. Birdwatching is also popular in the area, and guests can spot the protected cagarros at the property. The quiet setting and the unique sea views provide a relaxing atmosphere that guests can enjoy each day.

Madalena is a 15-minute drive away and features a harbour with boat connections to Faial Island. Nearby, São Roque features a harbor with boat connections to São Jorge Island. The Pico Airport is a 12-minute drive from the Casa do Cagarro.
