In the church are the remains of Mestre Ataíde, born in Mariana. The paintings of the nave and the sacristy, besides the three images of the Passion (tabernacle, high altar and altar of St. Elizabeth) are the artist's. Aleijadinho left his influence in the bells and the risk of the facade, having made the pulpits in soapstone.
