The Monastery of Santa Clara-a-Velha is located in Coimbra, on the left bank of the Mondego, near the city's downtown. It was built by D. Isabel de Aragão in 1314, at the site of the primitive nucleus of the Poor Clares founded in 1283 by D. Mor Dias.
It is classified as a national monument by IPPAR.
