The Gaetano Ferolla Public Transportation Museum is a Brazilian museum located in the city of São Paulo in the Canindé neighborhood.
It was inaugurated on March 20, 1985 by the then mayor of São Paulo Mário Covas as a Museum of the Municipal Company of Public Transportation. It was not until September 27, 1991 that it was given its current name, a year after the death of Gaetano Ferolla, a former CMTC employee who strove to idealize the site. Currently the museum is maintained and managed by SP Trans.
The Transport Museum has relics of national public transport from the first tram to circulate in Brazil to the first trolleybus of national manufacture. Also part of the institution's collection are 7 vehicles, vehicle parts, a small support library with about 1,500 photos and 1,500 books, furniture, objects and documents on the evolution of urban transport.
It houses a parlor of cars, where are the trams, buses and trolleybus; a garden with benches and lamps depicting the 1920s; a photo room and a document room.
Centex Tram, a model from New York that used to travel along Paulista Avenue in the 1950s;
“Monika”, the first diesel bus manufactured by the former Municipal Transport Company, now SP Trans.
