In the center of the park is the bronze work of General Santander made by the German sculptor Karl Borner and inaugurated on August 5, 1890, on the side of 11th street, the building of the Municipal Mayor's Office of Cúcuta on Avenida 5 and the Cathedral of San José. The other surrounding buildings are bank headquarters and shopping centers.
Located between Avenues 5 and 6 with streets 10 and 11 where formerly the main square of the town of San José de Guasimales was located.
Place that was the scene of main events of Cucuteño life and public shows such as: bullfights and cockfights.
